Snapshot No. 770-774
774.@Prescription toward an advanced nation
An electrical work I happened to meet.
The work looks to be for the 6.6 kV lead-in for the new building at the right.
I am amazed that the electricians' work has become so much better than before.
By the way, imho, those countries which adopt utility poles in the urban areas are the so-called "developing country", or in Japanese nuance, "backward country".
In our country, even if we have the resources, technology and money, burying power-lines underground has not progressed much.
No doubt, one of the "backward nations".
There are many here who say we have no money.
HOWEVER, in my own experiences, I happened to see the electrical distribution systems in various countries, in many cases, there are nations and areas which looked not so wealthy, but yet they adopt underground power system.
In short, I have come to a conclusion that the difference is a matter of "aspiration".
As it is no use crying over the situation, below I mention my idea for the process toward the burying the utility poles underground.
Last year, 2024 fiscal year, ending this month, the "renewable energy surcharge" is 3.49 yen/kWh.
Namely, all households here pay about 10% additionally to the kWh they consumed, without saying a particular word.
The homes which use 500 kWh a month pay 500 x 3.49 = 1,745 yen additionally. It is 20,940 yen a year, 209,400 yen for 10 years.
In the same way, "Laying power-lines underground surcharge / "LPU surcharge" shall be inacted at the 2025 fiscal-year. The first rate, 5.00 yen/kWh.
Don't say it is too costly.
The important thing here is that our descendants grow up in the high quality environment.
At the same time, an ordinance of "utility-pole prohibited zone" shall be newly enacted, covering the area within 200 meters from the precincts of schools, shrines/temples and libraries.
The work should start immediately.
The original picture borrowed from Tiba-ken site / Hunting-gun prohibited area
This shall be continued for 10 years, 20 years, - -.
Gradually, people will realize the quality difference between the district with underground system and the otherwise area.
Coming to this point, the government policy metamorphoses into the social trend with no return path. Thereafter things accelerate as intended.
Seeing the outside world, I notice the trend that the radio antennas in the urban areas are prohibited after the completion of burying the powerlines underground.
Although this could be a haedache for radio amateurs, it can be construed as a proof for the "developed nation".

Enkuu again.
As for Enkuu, we think of this dual-headed sukuna.
In the "The Chronicles of Japan"#1, this person appears as a dissident against the royal court.
While, at the local Hida area, he is a hero who has been worshipped to this day.

771. Spring soon
Swelling buds of a neko-yanagi.
This was originally a part of XYL's flower arrangement of last year. As it had put out roots, I planted it in the yard.
770. A keyaki tree
Amid the continued cold but fine weather, trees of keyaki and yurinoki at the usual square are inflicted hardships caused by heavy prunings.
Sorry for those trees.
We, however, have no choice but to ask for their patience in order to coexist with humans in harmony.
